Cookie Policy
Last updated: April 23, 2026
The Short Version
QuickComic only uses strictly necessary cookies and similar browser storage. We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, third-party analytics cookies, or any cookies that require your consent under the EU ePrivacy Directive or GDPR.
Because we only use essential cookies, you will not see a cookie consent banner on QuickComic. If you ever do, something has gone wrong — please let us know.
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. We also use related browser storage technologies (localStorage and sessionStorage) for the same essential purposes. In this policy, "cookies" refers to all of these technologies.
Cookies We Use
1. Authentication
When you sign in, our authentication provider stores a session token in your browser's localStorage. This is what keeps you signed in between visits and lets the Service know it is really you when you create or view comics.
- Name:
sb-*-auth-token(in localStorage) - Purpose: Keep you signed in
- Duration: Until you sign out or the session expires
- Set by: QuickComic (first-party)
2. UI Preferences
We use a small cookie to remember whether you have collapsed or expanded the sidebar in the app, so the layout stays the way you left it.
- Name:
sidebar_state - Purpose: Remember your sidebar layout preference
- Duration: 7 days
- Set by: QuickComic (first-party)
3. Payments
When you make a purchase, you are redirected to our payment provider (Polar, which handles Stripe, Apple Pay, and Google Pay). That provider sets its own cookies on its own checkout pages to process the transaction securely and prevent fraud. Those cookies are governed by Polar's and Stripe's cookie policies, not ours. We do not embed third-party payment scripts on QuickComic pages outside of the dedicated checkout flow.
Cookies We Do Not Use
- No advertising or marketing cookies.
- No cross-site tracking or retargeting pixels.
- No third-party analytics cookies (Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, etc.).
- No social media tracking cookies.
- No fingerprinting or device-identification scripts.
Managing Cookies
Because all our cookies are strictly necessary for the Service to work, we do not provide an in-app toggle. You can still control or delete cookies in your browser at any time — but if you block our authentication cookie, you will not be able to sign in or use the Service.
Most browsers let you manage cookies under Settings → Privacy:
Changes to This Policy
If we ever introduce additional cookies (for example, opt-in analytics), we will update this page and, where required by law, ask for your consent before setting them.
