Lettering
Lettering is the craft of placing dialogue, captions, and sound effects in a comic, including font choice and bubble layout.
Good lettering disappears — bad lettering fights the art. Vintage comics use a hand-lettered all-caps style with strong 'I' bars and exclamation-point flourishes.
